Pamela Black, associate professor of criminal justice at Penn State Hazleton, has released a new book titled “Minorities and Deviance: Coping Strategies of the Power Poor,” examining the relationship between stress and deviance. The book looks at the role that stress can play in addiction, obsession and self-harm.
#GivingTuesday — held the Tuesday after Thanksgiving — is Nov. 27 this year and Penn State Hazleton supporters are invited to make a gift in honor of the day that celebrates the power of giving back. Penn State will begin the campaign at 6:55 p.m. EST (18:55 in military time, representing the year of Penn State's founding) on Nov. 26 until midnight on Nov. 27.
Penn State Hazleton is hosting information sessions for its health care programs at 5 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 3, in the Slusser/Bayzick Building. A second session will be held at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 2.

Penn State Hazleton's Office of Admissions and Financial Aid will conduct an application and financial aid night from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 8, for students interested in applying to Penn State Hazleton. The application fee will be waived for those attending the event.
Penn State students will have the opportunity to learn more about the Thanksgiving holiday and similar holidays around the world by attending the Penn State Northeast Regional Thanksgiving Dinner.
