The Office of Global Programs and International Student Support Services at Penn State Hazleton work to serve international students by assisting them with all legal documentation and services for non-immigrant students on F-1 and J-1 status at Penn State University. We provide resources for future applicants, newly accepted students, and current students through varying personnel available at the Hazleton campus, in our northeast region, and through the Office of Global Programs office located at University Park.
Penn State Hazleton offers a small, close-knit campus community within the larger Hazleton community and the greater Penn State community.
International students are invited and encouraged to participate in all campus events alongside students from across the United States and around the world. Additionally, international students at Penn State Hazleton will be provided with specific opportunities to connect with other Penn State international students in the eastern region through both in-person experiences and online connections.
International students at Penn State Hazleton can use any service offered by the campus, in addition to having access to the international student liaison, Devon Whalen, who will communicate with students before arrival and throughout their time at Penn State Hazleton. In this role, the international student liaison:
- provides information provided by the Office of Global Programs at University Park
- serves as a primary contact for questions
- offers opportunities for international students to grow within the Penn State Hazleton community through activities and events.
