Enrollment in these courses is open to currently licensed registered nurses. All program courses must be taken for a letter grade, and students must maintain at least a C (2.0 grade-point) average to receive a Penn State certificate upon completing the program.
Courses
NURS 430 - Organization & Administration for the Nurse Manager (3 credits)
Introduction and organizational theory and principles of practice in the administration of nursing services and patient care.
Prerequisites: NURS 301, 302, 310, 320; or current & valid RN license for RN to B.S. majors.
NURS 431 - Data Management for Nurse Managers (3 credits)
Analysis of information systems to manage nursing service organizations; includes financial management, the budgeting processes, and productivity measurement.
Prerequisites: NURS 301, 302, 310, 320; or current & valid RN license for RN to B.S. majors.
NURS 432 - Nursing Management of Human Resources (3 credits)
Human resource management & related factors in nursing service organizations.
Prerequisites: NURS 301, 302, 310, 320; or current & valid RN license for RN to B.S. majors.
NURS 433 - Seminar for Nurse Managers (3 credits)
Focuses on the application of management principles in the role of the nurse manager.
Prerequisites: NURS 301, 302, 310, 320; or current & valid RN license for RN to B.S. majors.
