Wieslaw Grebski, associate professor of engineering, and Daniel Vice, senior instructor in earth and mineral sciences, are retiring from Penn State Hazleton and were honored at a ceremony at the campus.

Creative professional and educator Mary Veronica Sweeney will serve as the commencement speaker at Penn State Hazleton. Commencement is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday, May 5, in the Dr. Thomas M. Caccese Gymnasium.
The Integrative Studies Seed Grant Program, offered through the Penn State Office for General Education, will support 71 different course development projects this summer. In response to the large volume of highly qualified proposals, the budget was generously increased by more than 50 percent by the Office of the Provost and the Office of Undergraduate Education.

It’s no secret that Penn State includes a network of campuses throughout the state of Pennsylvania, but incoming students may not be fully aware of all the financial benefits attending a campus other than University Park may afford.
Penn State Hazleton will hold an information session at 5:30 p.m. May 17 for high school students interested in taking classes at the campus and earning college credits at a reduced rate. The event will be held in 115 Evelyn Graham Academic Building and is open to students who will be high school juniors and seniors in fall 2017. Parents also are encouraged to attend.
