At Penn State Hazleton, 84% of full-time employees indicated they are fully vaccinated, including 100% of administrators, 91% of academic personnel (instructors, researchers and faculty) and 79% of nonunion staff. At this time, the overall campus vaccination rate is higher than the vaccination rate of Luzerne County.
Penn State Hazleton will hold a COVID-19 vaccination clinic for students, employees, and anyone age 12 and older from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 8, in the campus Health Center at 704 West Hall.
In remembrance of those who lost their lives during the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks and their tragic aftermath, events and resources are being offered for Penn State campus and community members across the commonwealth for the 20th commemoration.
Prospective students will have ample opportunities to find their fit at Penn State Hazleton this fall, highlighted by the campus’ annual Penn State Day open house from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 9.
Bhanu Shankar Babaiahgari has been hired as assistant professor of electrical engineering and Beth Greenberg has been hired as lecturer and program coordinator in health policy and administration, Chancellor Gary M. Lawler announced.
