HAZLETON, Pa. — Prospective students will have ample opportunities to find their fit at Penn State Hazleton this fall, highlighted by the campus’ annual Penn State Day open house from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 9.
Penn State Day will give high school students and current college students looking to transfer the opportunity to explore campus, engage with current students, faculty and staff, and ask questions about applying for the spring 2022 or fall 2022 semesters.
Participants will also hear details on the 13 baccalaureate and five associate degrees that can be completed at Penn State Hazleton, and the more than 275 majors that can be started in Hazleton and completed at University Park or another campus as part of the 2+2 program.
Prospective students interested in learning specifically about the application process can sign up for a free Application Workshop from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 16. There, participants can have their application fee waived and their Penn State application submitted. In-person and virtual sessions will be offered.
Tailored just for transfer students, Lunch Break Transfer Sessions offer opportunities to learn about the admissions process, transferring credits, academic programs, financial aid and more. Participants can have their transcript evaluated and get connected with faculty in their academic program of interest. A virtual session will be held noon-1 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 22, with an in-person option scheduled for noon-2 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 13.
Individual appointments for transfer students, meanwhile, will be available every Thursday at noon (on campus) and 6 p.m. (virtual) beginning Sept. 9. A transfer counselor will be on hand to provide a transcript evaluation and explain the necessary requirements for transferring into any academic program.
Those who can’t make it to these events have the option to attend traditional admissions offerings, including individual, in-person campus tours on weekdays and select Saturdays.
