Penn State President Eric Barron and James Delattre, associate vice president for research and director of the Office of Entrepreneurship and Commercialization, addressed lawmakers Nov. 9 in Harrisburg during a hearing of the Pennsylvania Senate Community, Economic and Recreational Development Committee. The hearing focused on Penn State’s efforts to drive economic development, job creation, entrepreneurship and innovation, and student career success through the Invent Penn State initiative.

Each hub is tailored to meet the needs of the community it serves and offers no-cost co-working space, business accelerator programs, legal and intellectual property advice, rapid prototyping resources and more to help startups and small businesses thrive.

Penn State President Eric Barron and a panel of local and industry leaders and entrepreneurs appeared in Harrisburg on Nov. 9 for a hearing of the Pennsylvania Senate Community, Economic and Recreational Development Committee. Titled “Improving Pennsylvania's Innovation Economy: Invent Penn State,” the hearing focused on Penn State’s efforts to drive economic development, job creation, entrepreneurship and innovation, and student career success through the Invent Penn State initiative.

King's College economics professor to present lecture on microloan impact

Penn State Hazleton will welcome King’s College Professor of Economics Margarita Rose at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 10, for a virtual lecture entitled “Small Loans for Big Change: Microfinance in Latin America and East Africa.” The hour-long lecture is organized by the campus’ Latinx Culture Club and Office of Academic Affairs.
