Penn State Hazleton will host author and Holocaust survivor Irene Hasenberg Butter for a virtual webinar at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 11. Butter, a survivor of two concentration camps, will share her experiences overcoming Nazi oppression during World War II. The event is free and open to the public.

Penn State Hazleton will welcome King’s College Professor of Economics Margarita Rose at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 10, for a virtual lecture entitled “Small Loans for Big Change: Microfinance in Latin America and East Africa.” The hour-long lecture is organized by the campus’ Latinx Culture Club and Office of Academic Affairs.
Penn State Hazleton Associate Teaching Professor of Information Sciences and Technology Barbara Brazon has been recognized with the College of Information Sciences and Technology Faculty Member of the Year Award. She recently marked her 25th year with Penn State.
