Designer purse bingo to be held Sunday

Penn State Hazleton’s THON organization is hosting a designer purse bingo on Sunday, Oct. 22. Doors open at noon and games will start at 1 p.m. in the Dr. Thomas M. Caccese Gymnasium.

Penn State Hazleton student organizes ‘bag drive’ for foster children

Lauren Nietz is asking her fellow students along with faculty and staff to participate in “Operation Duffle Bag” by donating new or gently used duffle bags, backpacks, drawstring bags or suitcases. She will take all bags collected to Hazleton-based Brandon’s Forever Home, which will distribute them to children in the foster care system.

Penn State Hazleton celebrates Kostos renovation

Penn State Hazleton rededicated its largest classroom building on Oct. 4, holding a ribbon cutting to celebrate the $15.5 million renovation project. University President Eric Barron and other officials joined Penn State Hazleton Chancellor Gary Lawler to rededicate the Kostos Building, originally constructed in 1970.

Alumni to offer 'A Night of Penn State Jazz' Oct. 26 in Wilkes-Barre

Penn State alumni representing four northeast regional campuses — Hazleton, Schuylkill, Wilkes-Barre and Worthington Scranton — will be offering “A Night of Penn State Jazz” on Oct. 26 at the F.M. Kirby Center in Wilkes-Barre. The concert, featuring Penn State’s Centre Dimensions jazz ensemble, will begin at 7:30 p.m.
