The Hazleton LaunchBox supported by Pasco L. Schiavo, Esq. is accepting participants for its upcoming Idea Design Lab and Idea Test Lab programs, no-cost resources designed for aspiring and experienced entrepreneurs alike.
Recognized student organizations may return to holding in-person activities, including meetings, tabling, and other events for the fall semester. Students are expected to follow all current masking requirements on their campus during these activities.
Due to the rapidly evolving COVID-19 conditions around the country and in Pennsylvania, effective immediately (Aug. 4), Penn State will require all students, faculty, staff and visitors — including those who are vaccinated and unvaccinated — to wear masks indoors at all campuses. Within the last 24 hours, many counties that are home to Penn State campuses have shifted to “orange” status, warranting an immediate adjustment to the University’s on-campus masking requirement.
A language course designed for those who interact with Spanish-speaking co-workers or customers in the workplace will be offered at Penn State Hazleton this fall. The eight-week Spanish in the Workplace virtual course begins Sept. 16.
Eight Penn State police officers are nationally certified as child passenger safety technicians to conduct child safety seat inspections and assist with installations.
Alyssa Schuetrum has been appointed student aid coordinator at Penn State Hazleton, Chancellor Gary M. Lawler announced. She will oversee the campus’ process of awarding student aid, including grants, loans, scholarships and awards.
A scholarship program funded by the estate of Penn State Hazleton advocate and longtime philanthropist Pasco L. Schiavo has been established at the campus to support first-year, baccalaureate degree-seeking students.
Penn State Hazleton will host an SAT prep course for high school students beginning Monday, June 28. Classes will be held on campus from 6-8 p.m. on Mondays and Thursdays through Aug. 16.
