Application process
Applicants must have completed high school requirements, including 3 units of English, 2 units of Math (2 units of algebra or 1 unit of algebra and 1 unit of plane geometry), and 10 units of other subjects (biology and chemistry are strongly recommended).
Admission is open to first-year students, students who transfer from other colleges (advanced standing), and Penn State students who wish to change major to MLT. Applications may be completed on-line. The program begins in the Fall semester. Although there is no deadline to submit applications, it is recommended that the applicant complete the application before February to enroll in the Fall semester.
The program is offered at Penn State Hazleton. It includes lectures and student lab sessions at Hazleton campus and practicums at clinical sites. Students desiring to start at another Penn State campus may complete the first fall and spring semesters at campuses that offer the appropriate courses, such as the Schuylkill, Berks, or Altoona campuses. Students may transfer to Penn State Hazleton for the second year, based on the availability of space in the program.
