Step 1: Apply Online
Apply for admissions using the online application.
Your application fee is waived if you have visited the campus before submitting your application. Please contact the Office of Admission before you submit your application to have the fee waived.
The recommended dates to submit your application are listed below:
- Fall Admission: July 1
- Spring Admission: October 1
- Summer Admission: March 1
The application submission dates vary by applicant type and intended program of study. Some programs have specific deadlines or admissions requirements.
Step 2: Submit Required Application Materials
Request an official transcript(s) from all post-secondary school(s) attended to be sent to the Penn State Hazleton Admissions Office at the address listed below, and obtain an unofficial copy for your records. If you are currently enrolled, you will need to submit a final transcript when your coursework is completed:
Penn State Hazleton
Attention: Admissions Department
76 University Drive
Hazleton, PA 18202
Step 3: Review Your Admissions Decision
Once you have received your offer of admission, pay your non-refundable acceptance fee of $230 online by logging back into your MyPennState account.
Step 4: Apply for Financial Aid
Step 5: Placement Testing
Most students entering Penn State University are required to take a math placement exam. As a transfer student, you may or may not be required to take one or both of these tests. These tests have nothing to do with your admission to the University, but are used to determine your level of ability in these areas for placement in the appropriate courses.
- You will be contacted by the Advising and Career Center (after your acceptance fee has been paid) and given the testing information, if needed. The test can be taken online from your own computer.
Step 6: Transfer Student Orientation
Meet with an academic/faculty adviser to schedule classes. It is very important that you bring an unofficial grade transcript, as well as your official evaluation of your credits with you. Academic Advising will reach out to students after they’ve paid their acceptance fee to schedule their orientation date.
You must register in order to attend TSO: orientation.psu.edu/reservation.
