News releases are crafted to inform members of the media about a significant happening at Penn State Hazleton. This can include events, awards, donations, special projects, research, or achievements by students, faculty and staff. News releases can be used to promote something in advance, request day-of coverage for an event, or simply to share information with the public.
News items may also be published on the Penn State Hazleton website and shared through campus social media channels. The Office of Strategic Communications will review all news release requests to determine the appropriate way to distribute your message.
Please try to be as clear as possible when describing what you need us to convey in the news release. Also keep in mind that we will do all we can to craft a strong message, but ultimately we cannot control what a media outlet chooses to cover.
All news release requests must be submitted for consideration at least four weeks in advance. Note that lead times for stories that you'd like to appear on the Penn State Hazleton website will vary depending on the story, so please provide as much advance notice as you can.
