Seminar for entrepreneurs to be held April 3 in Hazleton

HAZLETON, Pa. — A seminar on important steps in starting a business will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, at the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce.

“Preparing a Business Plan and Financial Projections” is the second in a series offered by Penn State Hazleton, the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce, CAN BE, the Downtown Hazleton Alliance for Progress, and the Small Business Development Center at Wilkes University (SBDC) for those interested in starting or growing their own business.

A business plan is an important step toward business success. Statistics indicate that businesses that plan ahead are often more successful than those that do not. In addition, if financing is required to start the business, then a business plan is required.

New businesses are often in need of financing. Traditional bank financing, micro-loan programs, angel investors, home equity loans, and lines of credit are the most popular means for starting a business. The seminar will present an overview of which avenue may be best for you.

The seminar is free and open to the public. It is ideal for those seeking to become full-time or part-time entrepreneurs. To register, visit www.hazletonchamber.org or call 570-455-1509.

The seminar is part of entrepreneurship events planned by Penn State Hazleton, the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce, CAN BE, the Downtown Hazleton Alliance for Progress, and the SBDC.
