This week, we recognize five Penn Staters who go above and beyond what's asked of them in their work at the University.
Do you know someone who deserves a shout-out? If you do, consider taking a minute to nominate that person by filling out a short online form. For more information about the process, visit the "We Are!" guidelines.
This week, it's thank you to:
Patty Lanich, at Penn State Behrend, whose nominator wrote: "Patty works with contracts and grant management, so she encounters lots of people with lots of questions and immediate needs. She is knowledgeable, patient and thorough. Above all, she is always pleasant and empathetic. She makes everyone feel valued and important."
Leah Raja, in Auxiliary and Business Services, whose nominator wrote: "Leah is a true team player, always making herself available to answer my questions or to help troubleshoot an issue I'm handling. I admire her collaborative attitude — she definitely embodies community as she is always working towards the betterment of the University."
Carl Asick and Mindy Knaub, at Penn State Harrisburg, whose nominator wrote: "Way to go to all of those who participated in making the 'Wellness Party' a great success for the students at Penn State Hershey, especially with all of the knowledge learned — including information on STDs, mindfulness and drinking safety. Fun was had, and everyone enjoyed it! Great job Carl and Mindy for leading the way!"
Karen Sofranko, at Penn State Hazleton, whose nominator recognized Sofranko for: "Excellence and leadership in advising, transition to LionPath, faculty education, and the campus care team."
