Peer tutoring at Penn State Hazleton is free for all students currently enrolled in a Hazleton campus course. If you are taking a course through another Penn State campus, you may need to contact that campus to receive tutoring services, as that campus best knows their faculty.
The peer tutors are students who have done well in the respective course and want to help other students. Students asking for assistance range from those who want help preserving an A average to those trying to pull a failing grade up to passing grade. Come visit the Student Success Center as soon as you find yourself having difficulties with a course!
Tutoring Request Form
Please complete the form in its entirety to request a tutor. All questions are required to be answered and a separate request form is needed for each course in which you would like to receive tutoring.
You should receive an email, via your Penn State email account, within 7 business days with your tutor's name and instructions for making an appointment. If you have not been contacted within this time period, please contact the Student Success Center in 203 Butler.
Then it is up to you! Be sure to come to your tutoring session prepared: readings completed, homework done to the best of your ability, bring your notes, and a list of questions or concerns you have so you and your tutor can make the most of your time together. Don’t forget – tutoring works best when done 1-2 times per week, every week, but we know that sometimes you just need help with a chapter or two as well, so we’ll find a plan that works for you.
Don’t forget to bring your Penn State ID to all tutoring appointments so you can register at the kiosk.
