Elevate your college experience
A community dedicated to excellence in academic achievement, Penn State Hazleton's Campus Honors Program provides enriched academic and social experiences for high-achieving students.
Benefits include scholarship funding, access to honors courses and undergraduate research opportunities, priority registration for courses, activities and class trips, and ability to present their work during the annual Honors Symposium.
How does it work?
Students enrolled in the program take a minimum of six credits of honors courses each academic year.
At the beginning of each semester, students work closely with both primary academic advisers and the Honors Program coordinator to develop academic plans, selecting from a variety of special honors courses, honors options, independent study, and research programs to satisfy Penn State's academic requirements.
During graduation, honors students have a special and formal honors convocation to recognize their academic achievements.
At the end of their first of second year, campus honors students may apply to the Schreyer Honors College. Schreyer Scholars may complete their first two years at Penn State Hazleton.
