The ATI Test of Essential Academic Skills (ATI TEASĀ®) measures basic essential skills in the academic content domains of reading, mathematics, science, and English and language usage.
Candidates who wish to be considered for admission to the Practical Nursing program must complete the prerequisite ATI TEASĀ® exam.

The nursing curriculum is challenging. The minimum scores to apply are listed below. Take the exam seriously; higher scores enhance your admission potential.
- Minimum composite (overall) score > 48%
- Minimum individual subject scores:
- English > 50%
- Science > 35%
- Reading > 55%
- Math > 45%
Candidates can test two times per admission qualification period, observing a minimum two-week review period between attempts.
Where can I take the TEAS exam?
In-Person Testing at Penn State Berks
Location: Penn State Berks, Reading, PA.
Registration closes 48 hours prior to the scheduled exam.

Remote testing
Penn State is pleased to partner with ATI Testing and Proctorio to offer remote exam dates:
- Saturday, February 22 at 9 a.m.
- Thursday, March 20 at 4 p.m.
- Friday, April 18 at 9 a.m.
REGISTER FOR A REMOTE PROCTORED TEAS EXAM
For remote testing, the following are required:
- A reliable internet connection (review additional system requirements provided by ATI Testing)
- A desktop or laptop computer with a remote camera and speaker capabilities
- Google Chrome web browse must be used to ensure optimal testing compatibility
- A quiet room where you are free from distraction and interruption for approximately 3 hours.
Other testing options
Candidates may register for the ATI TEAS, Version 7 exam offered at other testing locations. An official TEAS transcript must be sent to Penn State Hazleton (additional charge may be applicable). Transcripts must indicate a testing date of June 1, 2023 or later.
