HAZLETON, Pa. — On Saturday, May 19, nine Penn State organizations will co-sponsor the ninth annual Penn State Day at Knoebels Amusement Park in Elysburg, Pennsylvania. Registration will begin at 10 a.m. at Pavilion M. A program will begin at 11 a.m. and will include lunch, a performance by the Alumni Blue Band, an appearance by the Nittany Lion, and prize raffles.
Several ticket options are available and participants must be registered to attend. Attendees 5 years and older can purchase a ticket for $22, which includes lunch and a $10 food/ride ticket booklet. The cost for children age 4 and under is $12 and will include lunch and a $10 food/ride ticket. A “Lunch Only” ticket can be purchased for $12 and does not include a food/ride ticket booklet. The live entertainment and prize raffles noted above are included with all ticket prices. Penn State Day T-shirts can be ordered in advance for $10 each. The deadline for reservations is April 30.
Individual organizations hosting this event are the Penn State Hazleton, Schuylkill, Wilkes-Barre and Worthington Scranton Alumni Societies, and the Greater Binghamton, Greater Hazleton, Greater Scranton, Greater Susquehanna Valley and Schuylkill chapters of the Penn State Alumni Association.
New this year will be a collection for the Wilkes-Barre VA Medical Center. Help us honor our veterans with your donations of gift cards, new blankets and new clothing items (including sweatpants and sweatshirts in assorted sizes). Bring your donations along with you to Knoebels.
Last year’s event was attended by more than 500 alumni, family and friends. All are welcome!
