Service restored to University phones after intermittent outages

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — After intermittent outages on Friday, Aug. 5, telephone service has been restored at the University Park campus and other affected Penn State locations.

Staff members in Telecommunications and Networking Services are monitoring the system to determine the cause of the outages, and updates will continue to be posted on the ITS Alerts site. During the outages, phone lines at Penn State's University Park, Brandywine and Hazleton campuses could not place or receive intercampus, long distance or local calls. Outages at all other Penn State campus locations only affected long distance and intercampus calls.

Please report any additional issues by emailing the Network Operations Center at [email protected] or calling 814-865-4662. To contact a Penn Stater by email, visit the online Penn State Directory.
