HAZLETON, Pa. — Penn State Hazleton honored nearly two dozen employees marking milestone anniversaries with the University during its Employee Recognition Ceremony on Friday, April 21.
Chancellor Elizabeth J. Wright and other campus leaders commended the honorees for their work ethic, enthusiasm and commitment.
Employees recognized during the ceremony include:
One year: Bhanu Babaiahgari, assistant professor of electrical engineering; Fermin Diaz, Hazleton LaunchBox entrepreneurship facilitator; Beth Greenberg, lecturer in health policy and administration and health policy and administration program coordinator; Christopher Kostelnik, residence life coordinator; Lauren Millbyer, administrative coordinator to the chancellor; Ryan Mutter, academic coordinator of clinical education in physical therapist assistant; Alyssa Russell, financial aid coordinator; Krista Schneider, PennTAP technical adviser; Mary Shott, janitorial worker; Maria Umbriac, financial assistant; and Grant Yoder, police officer.
Five years: Douglas Edmonds, assistant professor of physics; Sabrina Krupko, associate director of admissions; Christian Kuehn, helper/repairer; Kimberly Lombardo, assistant financial coordinator; Ellen Raineri, assistant teaching professor of business; Dana Sukeena, campus counselor; and Nargess Tahmasbi, assistant professor of information technology.
Ten years: Monica Croshaw, food service worker; Joseph Ranalli, associate professor of engineering; Jayne Schreppel, janitorial worker; and Karen Sofranko, director of academic services and retention.
Fifteen years: Karen Beruck, student advocacy specialist; Lisa Hartz, information resources and services support specialist; Gina Monks, associate teaching professor of mathematics and Math Dimension coordinator; Jaculin Scarcella, alumni relations and stewardship officer; and Gina Tarud, associate teaching professor of physical therapy.
Twenty years: Patrice Lombard, director of athletics.
Twenty-five years: Edward Beneshunas, foods and ancillary services manager; and Doreen Verbonitz, snack bar attendant.
Retirements: Lorrie Deffley, regional human resources strategic partner; and Barbara Trainor, janitorial worker.
