HAZLETON, Pa. — Supporters, community leaders, and members of the campus gathered to welcome Penn State Hazleton Chancellor Elizabeth J. Wright during a special luncheon at the Mary M. and Bertil E. Lofstrom Library on Nov. 10.

After remarks by Director of Campus Development and Alumni Relations Desiree Voitek, Penn State Hazleton Council President John J. Beltrami, and Lion Ambassadors President Matthew Janson, Wright discussed priorities for Penn State Hazleton that included providing affordable access to education for students, closing the financial aid gap, and engaging and supporting the surrounding community.

"We are a campus that is truly poised to be on the move," Wright said. "We know we have a lot of work to do and we are absolutely dedicated to getting it done. We work together as a team, both here on campus with our students and with the broader community — and we are very proud to do so."

Wright assumed the role of chancellor on July 1.
