Penn State Day at Knoebels Amusement Resort to be held May 14

HAZLETON, Pa. — On Saturday, May 14, 11 Penn State organizations will co-sponsor the 11th annual Penn State Day at Knoebels Amusement Park in Elysburg, Pennsylvania. Registration will begin at 10 a.m. at Pavilion M. The program will begin at 11 a.m., which includes lunch, a performance by the Alumni Blue Band, an appearance by the Nittany Lion, and prize raffles. This event is open to Penn State alumni, family and friends. The 2019 event was attended by more than 500 people. 

Several ticket options are available and attendees must register in advance to attend at psuberkschapter.com/knoebels by April 29. Tickets for attendees 5 years of age and older are $23, which includes lunch and a $10 food/ride ticket booklet. The cost for children, age 4 and under, is $13 and includes lunch and a $10 food/ride ticket. A “lunch only” ticket can be purchased for $13 and does not include a food/ride ticket booklet. The prize raffle is included with all tickets. 

This event is hosted by the Penn State Berks, Hazleton, Schuylkill, Wilkes-Barre and Scranton alumni societies, as well as the Berks County, Bucks County, Greater Hazleton, Greater Scranton, Greater Susquehanna Valley and Schuylkill chapters of the Penn State Alumni Association. 

This year, there will be a collection for the Wilkes-Barre VA Medical Center. Attendees are invited to donate gift cards, new blankets and new clothing items (including sweatpants and sweatshirts in assorted sizes); donations can be brought to Knoebels. In addition, Knoebels Amusement Resort is offering a free wristband to all who served or are currently serving in the military with proof of service on this date only.
