Graduates of Penn State Hazleton’s practical nursing program were recognized during a ceremony on Tuesday, Dec. 16, in the Dr. Thomas M. Caccese Gymnasium of the Physical Education Building. The class received their nursing pins and certificates, marking their completion of the 18-month program.

A $950,000 gift from a philanthropist will enable academically qualified, area high school students to take courses free of charge, earning college credits and early exposure to university-level learning. Starting in spring 2026, the dual enrollment program at Penn State Hazleton will expand access to higher education by covering tuition and providing students with academic support and college readiness resources.
