Making a campus change is a big decision, and we’re here to help you explore whether Penn State Hazleton is the right fit for your academic, financial and personal goals. Here’s what to consider:

  • Academics

    • Explore your major: Visit our academics page to see if we offer the major you’re pursuing.
    • Smaller classes, bigger connections: Enjoy a more personalized learning experience with smaller class sizes and closer relationships with faculty and peers.
    • Supportive Advising: You’ll be matched with an academic adviser who specializes in your major. If you’re still exploring, our Advising & Career Center and Career Services Coordinator are here to guide you toward a major that aligns with your interests, values and goals.
       

  • Financial Considerations

    • Tuition differences: Use the tuition and cost estimator to compare costs between campuses and see what works best for your budget.
    • Credit milestones: Keep in mind that tuition increases once you reach 59.1 credits (junior status), regardless of campus.
    • Scholarships: If you’re receiving campus-specific scholarships, check with Financial Aid to ensure your eligibility won’t be affected by a campus change.
       

  • Housing

    • Penn State Hazleton offers on-campus housing for all four years! While off-campus living is an option, please note that nearby housing may be limited. Learn more about living on campus.
       

  • Student Life

    • Get involved on campus! Student Services and Engagement connects you to a wide range of clubs, activities and campus events designed to help you build friendships, develop leadership skills and build a strong sense of belonging. Our office also supports your overall well-being by connecting you with essential campus resources like Counseling and Health Services, Athletics and intramurals, and Student Life programs. Whether you’re looking to become more active, manage stress, explore new interests, or make the most of your college experience, these resources are here to support you every step of the way. What’s Next? Join the Penn State Hazleton Community!

Step 1: Schedule your classes
Log in to Starfish to select a day and time that works for you. Meet with a professional adviser in the Advising & Career Center to plan your upcoming semester. You can schedule with either Dr. Karen Sofranko or Megan Hurley-Knight.

Step 2: Watch your email
You’ll receive welcome messages from key campus leaders to help you connect with resources for your success, including:

  • Chancellor
  • Director of Student Engagement
  • Academic Advising team

Step 3: Connect with Financial Aid
After registering for classes, schedule a meeting through Starfish with Alyssa Russell, our financial aid coordinator. Ask about campus scholarships you may qualify for!

Step 4: Visit campus
If you haven’t seen Penn State Hazleton yet, schedule a visit through Admissions. Our Lion Ambassadors can’t wait to show you around!

Step 5: Meet your Lion Guidez mentor
You’ll be paired with a Lion Guidez student mentor to help you navigate your transition. Expect an email from Joel Melo soon. Keep checking your inbox!

Step 6: Participate in Welcome Week events
Celebrate your arrival during Welcome Week, including our Welcome Luncheon for change-of-campus students.
