PHR and SPHR Certification Review Course

If you have been considering increasing your HR knowledge or earning your PHR® (Professional in Human Resources) or SPHR® (Senior Professional in Human Resources) certification, Penn State Hazleton can help you achieve your goal. Our course is designed to help you learn and retain the material effectively and efficiently by combining the best exam preparation system with expert instruction and peer discussion.
Offered in partnership with the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), the curriculum is designed by subject matter experts, covers the 2013 HR Certification Institute body of knowledge and ranks as the #1 PHR/SPHR certification preparation program.
The 36 hours of classtime will include face to face instruction, SHRM Learning system including on-line test questions, case studies, flash cards, and a customized Training Plan.
The course consists of six modules that correspond to the functional areas, responsibilities, and associated knowledge as defined by HRCI:
- Module 1 - Strategic Management
- Module 2 - Workforce Planning and Employment
- Module 3 - Human Resource Development
- Module 4 - Compensation and Benefits
- Module 5 - Employee and Labor Relations
- Module 6 - Occupational Health, Safety, and Security

Dates: Saturdays, September 27 through November 15 (No class October 11 and November 1)
Times: 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Location: Penn State Worthington Scranton
Course fee: $1,450 for SHRM members, $1,550 for nonmembers (fee includes lunch and study materials)

Refund Policy
Due to demand for courses and camps, advance payment for registration is required no later than one (1) week prior to the first class. Space cannot be held without payment. Cancellations must be received at least three (3) working days prior to the first day of class, or the student will be responsible for the fee. The University reserves the right to cancel or postpone any course due to insufficient enrollment or other unforeseen circumstances.
