Penn State announced $200,000 in new seed grant funding as part of the University's Invent Penn State Initiative. The four campuses receiving grants — Beaver, DuBois, Greater Allegheny and Hazleton — bring to 21 the number of Innovation Hubs across the Commonwealth.
A scholarship in honor of the late Matthew Gibson has been established at Penn State Hazleton by his parents, Paul and Lori Gibson. The Matthew Gibson Memorial Scholarship will provide financial support to assist full-time undergraduate students in their first or second year who are interested in pursuing their education in the field of chemistry.

Penn State is moving toward a University-wide health insurance requirement for the 2018-19 academic school year. In preparation for the new requirement, University Health Services (UHS) will begin collecting student health insurance information in May 2017.
