Eshani Lee's research and own experiences have demonstrated to her that the language used in STEM classes can be a barrier for non-native English-speaking students. Now she is the principal investigator on a project — funded by a two-year National Science Foundation grant — titled “Breaking the Language Barrier in Chemistry Assessment.”

The inaugural Cross-Cultural Collaboration Symposium provided a forum for students from Penn State Hazleton and United Arab Emirates University to reflect on a weeks-long collaboration dedicated to understanding one another's perspective and culture.
