The public is invited to learn about disease research and management of smallmouth bass in the Susquehanna River during a lecture at Penn State Hazleton. The talk will be presented at 12:20 p.m. Oct. 8 in Room 1 of the Kostos Building by Geoffey Smith, Susquehanna River biologist for the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission.
Penn State alumni representing four northeast regional campuses will be offering “A Night of Penn State Jazz” at the Alice C. Wiltsie Performing Arts Center, 700 North Wyoming Street, Hazleton, on Sunday, Oct. 21. The concert, featuring Penn State’s Centre Dimensions jazz ensemble, will begin at 7:30 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for general seating.
Penn State’s seventh annual Exercise is Medicine on Campus week will feature a variety of initiatives and events Oct. 8-12, including a “Class Challenge,” an expanded EIM Everywhere Alumni Initiative, and three Mobile Exercise is Medicine trips to Penn State Hazleton, Harrisburg and Hershey.
Penn State Hazleton’s Office of Admissions will host the annual Penn State Day Open House for prospective students and their families on Saturday, October 13, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. starting in the Evelyn Graham Academic Building. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. The event is free and open to the public.
Author and investigative journalist Ben Bradlee Jr. will speak at Penn State Hazleton about his new book, which explores the question of “Who voted for Donald Trump, and why?” while looking at Luzerne County as a microcosm of the country.
