High school students can learn how to develop a business or product idea while earning the opportunity to win a $1,000 prize this summer through the Teen Entrepreneurship Challenge hosted by the Hazleton LaunchBox supported by Pasco L. Schiavo, Esq.
Penn State President-elect Neeli Bendapudi met with the Penn State Hazleton campus community on Monday, April 4, as part of her listening and learning tour of Penn State’s campuses. During her visit, she toured campus, held multiple town halls, and engaged in meaningful conversations about her vision for the University's future.
The Penn State community will be celebrating Pride Month throughout April, with events sponsored by the Center for Sexual and Gender Diversity as well as a variety of additional programming across the University's campuses.
Penn State Hazleton will host Roger Egolf, associate professor of chemistry at Penn State Lehigh Valley, for a lecture on the 1862 Morrill Land-Grant College Act at 12:10 p.m. on Wednesday, March 30, in Room 4 of the Mary M. and Bertil E. Lofstrom Library. The event is free and open to the public. It also will be livestreamed via Zoom.
The Hazleton LaunchBox supported by Pasco L. Schiavo, Esq. will host a variety of virtual events geared towards innovation, entrepreneurship, and leadership from April 4 to 8 during Penn State Startup Week powered by PNC.
The Hazleton Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association will host photos with the Easter Bunny and Nittany Lion from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, in the lobby of the Evelyn Graham Academic Building at Penn State Hazleton.
Free weekly sessions designed to inform families and students about financial aid will begin Friday, March 25, at Penn State Hazleton. One-on-one appointments with a student aid coordinator will be available several times throughout the day every Friday through May 13.
Lauren Gombeda, a third-year student from Hazleton majoring in information sciences and technology and minoring in security and risk analysis, has been named Penn State Hazleton’s student of the month for February.
On Saturday, May 14, the Hazleton Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association and 10 other Penn State organizations will co-sponsor the 11th annual Penn State Day at Knoebels Amusement Park in Elysburg, Pennsylvania. The event is open to Penn State alumni, family and friends.
Students at Penn State Hazleton or University Park who are conducting research or scholarly work under the guidance of Hazleton faculty are invited to present their work at the annual Undergraduate Research Symposium from April 5-8.
