National Coffee with a Cop Day is Oct. 2, and Penn State police officers are celebrating by giving away coffee and snacks at 22 campuses across Pennsylvania.
The Penn State Hazleton Alumni Society has organized a bus trip for “a day on your own” in New York City on Saturday, Dec. 7, with seats filling fast. All are invited to purchase a ticket for the trip, which costs $40 and includes bus transportation, water and snacks.
Penn State Laureate William Doan, professor of theatre in the College of Arts and Architecture and artist in residence in the College of Nursing, will speak at Penn State Hazleton on Tuesday, Sept. 24, on the topic “The Anxiety Project: An Artist’s Look at Mental Health and Wellness.” His presentation will begin at 12:15 p.m. in Room 1 of the Kostos Building. It is free and open to the public.
Penn State alumni representing four northeast regional campuses — Hazleton, Schuylkill, Scranton and Wilkes-Barre — will offer “A Night of Penn State Jazz” on Oct. 15 at the historic Ritz Theater in Scranton. Doors will open at 6 pm. The concert, featuring Penn State’s Centre Dimensions jazz ensemble, will begin at 7 p.m.
Penn State President Eric Barron and Penn State Hazleton Chancellor Gary Lawler hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Hazleton LaunchBox supported by Pasco L. Schiavo, Esq. at the renovated facility located at 13 W. Broad St. in Hazleton.
