Alumni Association CEO to speak at Hazleton Chapter dinner July 6

HAZLETON, Pa. — Paul Clifford, chief executive officer of the Penn State Alumni Association, will be the featured speaker for the annual business meeting dinner of the Hazleton Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association.

The event will begin at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 6, at the Valley Country Club, located at 79 Country Club Lane in Sugarloaf. A meet and greet with fellow alumni and friends of Penn State Hazleton will take place from 6 to 7 p.m., with dinner, the program and prizes scheduled for 7 to 8 p.m.

The buffet-style meal includes sliced flank steak with mushroom bordelaise, potato-encrusted cod filet, Bavarian cordon chicken, penne pasta with vodka sauce, fresh broccoli, rolls, baby field greens with balsamic vinaigrette and Georgia mud pie. Coffee, tea and a cash bar will be available.

Door prizes and auction items will include Penn State lawn chairs, clothing and other memorabilia, along with a basketball autographed by Penn State men's coach Patrick Chambers.

The cost for the annual business meeting dinner is $30 for members of the Hazleton Chapter or $35 for non-members, with reservations and payment requested by Thursday, June 30. All proceeds benefit the Greater Hazleton Chapter Academic Award at Penn State Hazleton, an award given annually to local students.
