2021 Holiday Greeting

From our students, faculty, staff, and the entire Penn State Hazleton community, we'd like to wish all of you a joyful holiday season and a safe, healthy and happy New Year!

Penn State Hazleton chemistry professor researching barriers in STEM

Eshani Lee's research and own experiences have demonstrated to her that the language used in STEM classes can be a barrier for non-native English-speaking students. Now she is the principal investigator on a project — funded by a two-year National Science Foundation grant — titled “Breaking the Language Barrier in Chemistry Assessment.”

Cross-Cultural Collaboration Symposium

Students from Penn State Hazleton and United Arab Emirates University met virtually during the fall 2021 semester to discuss cultural similarities, differences, and their experiences as college students during COVID-19. Participants recently gathered to reflect on those experiences during the Cross-Cultural Collaboration Symposium.
