Family establishes memorial scholarship for chemistry students

A scholarship in honor of the late Matthew Gibson has been established at Penn State Hazleton by his parents, Paul and Lori Gibson. The Matthew Gibson Memorial Scholarship will provide financial support to assist full-time undergraduate students in their first or second year who are interested in pursuing their education in the field of chemistry.

Penn State Hazleton career closet set to open

Penn State Hazleton is preparing a space where students can borrow appropriate attire for job or internship interviews at no cost. Donations are currently being taken from faculty and staff for the career closet, which will be located in the LOFT at 501 West Halls.

Penn State Hazleton THON and alumni chapter to host Jan. 22 blood drive

The Greater Hazleton Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association and Penn State Hazleton THON are teaming up with the American Red Cross to sponsor a blood drive from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 22, at Penn State Hazleton’s Evelyn Graham Academic Building, located at 76 University Drive in Hazleton.

Journal recognizes professor for research output

Daniel Mansson, associate professor of communication arts and sciences at Penn State Hazleton, was ranked No. 21 in terms of communication research productivity during the period from Jan. 1, 2012, to Dec. 31, 2016, in the journal “Communication Education.” The recognition notes that he is in the top 1 percent of approximately 4,000 active researchers.

Penn State Hazleton sponsoring business startup series

Penn State Hazleton, in collaboration with the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Hazleton Alliance for Progress, CAN BE and the Wilkes University Small Business Development Center, is sponsoring a series called "Steps to Starting and Growing Your Own Business."
